Webinar on physical education and school sport

 

Organised by the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS) Consultative Committee (CC) to host a webinar on physical education and school sport on 21 February

For EUPEA, Rose-Marie Repond participates at the webinar about what is the specificity of sport as a tool to promote Human rights and democracy? What good practices can be used to promote positive values and inclusion in sport for young people? These two questions and more will be explored in the upcoming EPAS Consultative Committee (CC) webinar entitled “Physical education and school sports: a creative approach to Human rights and democracy”. EUPEA took the opportunities to show development build on Physical literacy for life and HEPAS.

The webinar did also examine how physical education teachers and coaches can implement a values-based approach to physical education and sports training in line with the revised European Sports Charter.

EUPEA participated in one of the round tables in the framework of the Ministerial Conference : “Sport and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in childhood: the societal challenges of an adapted sport practice “.

Organised in the framework of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union. This conference highlighted and analysed the fundamental importance of physical activity and sport in the acquisition of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)1 of the Agenda 2030 (2) by children and adolescents. The EUPEA participated in the round table WHAT IS OUR COMMON AMBITION FOR EUROPE? What are the levers for action at EU level and perspectives for potential cooperation between Member States to promote the introduction of physical activity and sport that is best adapted to the needs and schedules of children in step with their development? What are the children’s own expectations?
